Congratulations to the 2026–2027 Scholarship Recipients
- Nadalee Hein, who attends Pennsylvania State University, received The Burkot Family Scholarship in memory of Mary Jo, Susan, and Wendy.
- Kate Ladner, who attends Liberty University, received the Tom and Sybil Harriett Scholarship.
- Christopher Meadows, who attends Western Carolina University, received the Bender Family Scholarship.

Church News and Fellowship
The Hot Dog and Ice Cream Social brought together the PPC family for food, fun, and fellowship. Thank you to Cheryl Coeyman and everyone who helped make it a success.
- Breath and Movement Class: Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. There will be no class September 25, October 27, November 17, or December 8. For information or registration, email maleray1@gmail.com.
- Coffee, Cake and Celebrate: The next monthly birthday celebration follows worship September 20.
- Coffee, Cookies and Conversation: First-Sunday fellowship returns October 4. Contact Noreen Jekel if you can provide cookies or make coffee.
- Greeters and ushers: Volunteers are needed for September and throughout 2026. Please use the sign-up sheet in the narthex.
- Pastor Ken’s office schedule: Pastor Ken is normally available Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by appointment. On September 4, he will arrive later; contact the office before visiting.
- Choir: Choir practice is canceled September 2 and September 9.
Congregational Meetings and Important Dates
- Monday, September 7: Labor Day; church office closed.
- Sunday, September 13: Congregational meeting after worship to elect four at-large members of the Congregational Nominating Committee and receive suggestions for Ruling Elder nominees, Class of 2029. Stewardship Lunch and a budget question-and-answer program follow. Session meets at 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m.: Women’s Circle in the Sanctuary Annex.
- Sunday, September 20: Coffee, Cake and Celebrate after worship.
- Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 a.m.: Men’s Breakfast, Team 1 cooking. A congregational meeting follows worship to receive the Nominating Committee report and, if the way is clear, elect three Ruling Elders to the Class of 2029.
- Sunday, October 4: World Communion Sunday; Session meets at 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, October 11: Homecoming Sunday.
Eligible-member information for elder nominations is available through the church office. Completed suggestion sheets may be placed in Jay Bender’s box at the Education Building, given to Frances Waters at the office, or submitted during the September 13 congregational meeting.
Birthdays and Anniversaries
September birthdays include Mary Pound on September 9, John Tyler on September 15, Egera Howe on September 17, Callaree Hoffman on September 20, Debbie Fitzgerald on September 23, and Danielle Long Shaw on September 28. Mark and Kay Bender celebrate their anniversary September 26.

Joys and Concerns
The congregation shared gratitude for the recent fellowship luncheon, worship leadership, strong attendance in person and online, safe travel, family celebrations, and the work of The Filling Station.
Please continue to remember those facing illness, surgery, hospice care, grief, travel, and other needs, along with those affected by natural disasters and human tragedy, those serving in the military and public safety, and leaders in our communities and nation.

Support The Filling Station
Current food pantry needs include peanut butter, jelly, pasta, canned vegetables, juice boxes, and pop-top soups. Donations may be taken to The Filling Station on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Worship and Church Office
Adult Sunday School in the church library and Children’s Sunday School begin at 9:45 a.m. Worship begins at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary and streams live on Facebook, YouTube, and the PPC website. Past services are available on the Weekly Videos page.
