Debbie Fitzgerald thanks the church family for the opportunity to attend Music & Worship week at Montreat this year. She describes it as the highlight of her year and is grateful for the chance to create cherished memories with her family while experiencing spectacular music and worship. She is excited to share what she learned and looks forward to using new ideas in the music program at PPC.

Scholarships
Students in the church family who are interested in applying for one of the Pollocksville Presbyterian Church scholarships should review the scholarship information included with this week’s PollyPress.
Scholarship opportunities include:

Green Team
The Pollocksville Green Team encourages everyone to cut back on single-use plastic bags by taking reusable fabric or insulated shopping bags to the grocery store. Keep a supply in your car and near the door you use when leaving home. Reuse existing plastic bags or place them in recycling bins.
As good stewards of God’s world, we are responsible for caring for it. Plastics pose a significant threat to our lands, wildlife, and health, and can take hundreds of years to disintegrate. The PollyPress includes a 31-day calendar with practical ideas for reducing single-use plastic. If you need a calendar, contact the church secretary at fwaters@pollocksvillepresbyterian.org.
Coffee, Cookies and Conversation
Coffee, cookies, and conversation in the Fellowship Hall will be served immediately following worship on the third Sunday of each month from July through September. Mark Sunday, July 19 on your calendar. This is a time for conversation and catching up with our church family and guests.
If you would like to supply cookies for one Sunday, please contact Noreen Jekel. Volunteers are also needed to make coffee. Please sign up!
Communion
Communion will be served during Sunday morning worship on July 26, 2026.
Choir
There will be no choir practice on Wednesday evenings through the rest of July.
Worship and Fellowship Schedule
- Sunday worship is at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
- Worship is streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, and the PPC website.
- Adult Sunday School meets Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in the church library.
- Children’s Sunday School also meets Sundays at 9:45 a.m.
- Breathe & Movement class meets Tuesdays, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
- There will be no Women’s Circle meeting in July. The annual meeting is Monday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m., with Lesson #9 led by Cathy Campbell.
- Coffee, Cookies, and Conversation will follow worship on Sunday, July 19, and Sunday, August 16.
- Men’s Breakfast is Sunday, July 26, at 8:00 a.m., with Team 3 cooking, and Sunday, August 23, with Team 4 cooking.
- Communion will be served during morning worship on Sunday, July 26.
- Hymn Sing is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, and Sunday, August 30.
- The Session meeting for July and August is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, at 5:00 p.m.
Volunteer Needs
Greeter and usher volunteers are needed for August 30 and for September. Please consider signing up in the narthex if you are willing to serve.

The Filling Station
Thank you for your continued support of The Filling Station.
Current items needed:
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Pasta
- Canned vegetables
- Juice boxes
- Pop-top soups
Food collections from PPC and local churches support The Filling Station pantry effort. Donations may be taken to The Filling Station on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Joys and Concerns
This week’s PollyPress includes joys and concerns from the past three weeks, including gratitude for family visits, birthdays, Sunday worship and music, and fellowship with church family.
The prayer list includes healing and recovery needs, comfort for families grieving the loss of loved ones, travel mercies for those away from home, those affected by natural disasters and human tragedies, residents of nursing homes and hospitals, those who are sick or shut in, military members, first responders, law enforcement, EMS, and national, state, and local leaders.
